How to Setup a Linksys Router?

Step 1 – We have to plug in the Linksys router in any power outlet and power it on.

Step 2 – Plug in the one end of the ethernet cable at the back of router or the modem.

Step 3 –The other end of the Ethernet cable should be at the back of any laptop or desktop computer. 

Step 4 –Open any web browser like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox on the laptop or desktop computer.

Step 5 – Put on the address bar of that web browser on the laptop or desktop computer and search it.

Step 6 – Put “admin” in both of the username and pass fields on your screen.

Step 7 –Choose a different name for your router other than the default name to avoid any confusion between the same routers in your neighborhood.

Step 8 – After making all the settings as per your needs, click on the save option.

Step 9 – Select the “wireless” option at the left top of your Linksys router settings screen.

Step 10 – Change the Wi-Fi network name or network SSID which you want to set for your home Wi-Fi network name.

Step 11 – Disable the “Wireless SSID broadcast” and click the continue option at the bottom.

Step 12 – Click on the “Wireless security” option located at the right top.

Step 13 – Select the “security mode” option and choose “web” over there. Then, select any strong password for your Wi-Fi network.
